Letter from the Founders
by Ron & Ellyn Coppess
In our 11 year history, you have helped over 200 boys in their life journeys. These former ranchers always say Sunny Crest has a warm place in their hearts. You have made a difference!
This first 6 months of 2020 have brought very challenging and uncertain times to us all. During this time of pause, reflection, and prayer, God has revealed to us it is time for a new direction at Sunny Crest. The old systems and structures are no longer the best way forward to help boys though their life challenges, so Sunny Crest is going to launch a newly structured operation in September. We are utilizing the summer to plan, structure, team build, and listen to God to put together the best set of tools, care, and solutions to assist boys well into the future. Some key focuses will be engaging in Christ centered foster care, and putting some new focus on helping young men aging out of the system that currently fall through the cracks.
In coordination with State and Local governing bodies, we are making sure our buildings, staff, strategy, and licensing are all up to date and appropriate for these new services. We are so excited for the vision God has shown us and even more excited for you to be a part of it. We could not ask for a more energetic, mission-minded group of staff, board, and supporters to be working with on this project and we can’t wait to share more with you soon!
We are also very excited to be hosting our 14th Annual Fore The Kids golf outing on Friday August 21. All proceeds will go toward the September launch of Sunny Crest operations. Please come out and join us for an amazing day of fellowship, golf, laughs, and fun at Centennial Acres in Sunfield, MI. To register, sponsor, or for more details please click here: GOLF, or contact Wes Vandenberg (1.616.558.7464), Wes@sunnycrestyouthranch.org.
We will be sending out updates via email and social media on our progress, and look for a refresh of the mission, services, and events on our website in the next couple months.
